Zumba, Dreams, Halloween

Image
I went to ZUMBA for the very time with my good friend Emmy this week.  It was a lot of fun.  It also was hard.  I am so out of shape.  I also felt like the most awkward woman in the room.  I like what Emmy said, "She (the instructor) makes me feel so white!"  That was spot on!  Poor white women with no rhythm.  The funny thing is we both can dance.  I can really appreciate the stars on DWTS now.  It is seriously like okay your going to do a dance you have never done before and you just follow along.  Oh and it is a mix of Latin and Belly dancing.  I do think a lot of it is muscle memory.  But the thing is, I liked it.  It was nice to be out doing something that wasn't grocery shopping, taxiing kids around, or making meals.  This was all about me.  And I like to be all about me...sometimes. I had a very bizarre dream last night.  I am guessing my nose must have been completely blocked on one side because in this dream I had cotton balls, wads of toilet paper, and even

Frogs Frogs Frogs!

When my mom first moved to this area in October of 1994 it was a very different and small town.  There were 3 street lights.  The new McDonald's was like super big news.  It has grown from about 30 thousand to over one hundred thousand.   There is a beautiful greenbelt that winds throughout our neighborhood and we both are backed up to it at different places.   My mom's first winter here, was an unusually wet one.  Her back yard was literally a pond.  There is a picture of her holding a ruler to show the depth of the water.  The water reached up to her patio door.  But what does that have to do with frogs?  Well, I am so glad you asked!  See this was before all those great calling plans came about, and cell phones were a precious thing.  I lived in Northern Ca, and we would send audio letters to each other.  One time, she included the sound of the frogs that had taken up residence in her backyard.  It was unbelievable.  There must have been thousands of them.  It was like you

DWTS Rocks the Ballroom

Image
This week DWTS is going to rock the ballroom!  Complete with pyrotechnics.  There will also be a dance marathon.  I feel sorry for the couple who dances last!! This week their dances are The Tango and The Paso Doble.  Interesting fit don't you think?  Audrina Patridge and Tony Dovolani 1-800-868-3401 Audrina and Tony are dancing The Paso Doble this week.  This is a very aggressive dance.  Last week, Bruno told Audrina to be "fantastic" not "plastic."  So, in order to pump up some of that "rage," Tony treated her to a boxing lesson in which she was beating up on "Bruno."  Actually it was his face on a dummy.  She was ready to go!!!  Their song, I felt was all too appropriate:  Another One Bites the Dust.  Sadly, that is what happened to her aggressive attitude.  She had the face, but mostly I felt it was too nice. Len said, "To be honest you're getting on my nerves!"  He explained that while she certainly has technique the da
